Fitness Gear: Jogging in February...

Hi everyone! How r u doin'? Today I am gonna out for my sunday jogging/walking and outside is still pretty chilly despite sun is shining. Therefore wanna show u how I dress up to stay warm and dry despite sweatting in cold temperature. You absolutely need an underwear with breathable textile in order to transport your sweat and keep your skin dry and then a waterproof/windstopper sweater on top to avoid to get the cold humid air to creep inside...

Week2

Hallo everyone and welcome back in my Blog! Last week has been a bit challenging for me as I was out of town for work and I stayed in a Hotel that had the biggest breakfast display ever...I tried not to pig on carbs (even if I cracked last day and got one croissant and two pancakes...) so I almost filled mysef every morning with salmon and turkey ham.

Then, as I had to have lunch at work, I could not avoid to try the Bavarian cuisine, which is by default not the lightest ever...
Basically I only managed to eat clean at night, as I shopped some fruit and almond nuts at the local grocery store. Anyway this week I am trying to "pay for my sins" and I am having a full veg lunch (and dinner) almost every day. I also came back home from office by foot (and is a good 6 Km walk). This weekend I will have a birthday party so we'll see how I will manage with that....

Motivational readings...

Hi everyone! Which magazines do you read normally during weekends?  I used to be a fashion Glamour magazines freak but since I put on weight I started to find a bit odd to look at clothings which I cannot wear...hence I switched to fitness-lowcarb cooking magazines and I found them pretty useful to get some ideas for my lunch and some more exercises for my mini gym session :-)

Coming back home...

Now let's face it: after 8 hrs of intense working the only things that both my body and my mind want to do once home are taking a shower and land on the sofa and switch my brain off by watching NCIS or Grays anatomy or whatever else on TV... So the only way to trick both my body and my mind is to do exercise before coming home. One useful trick is to bring your gym bag to work and go streight there right after work. Or...coming back home walking instead of taking the bus :-) Which for me means a good 6Km walk along the river. And guess what? I find it pretty relaxing and gives me a bonus of 500Kcal burned without the hassle to go to the gym. :-)

Week1- Strawberry Protein Shake

So here we go...one week later the start of my journey I have set my first goal. Which is it? To be able to survive to a complete night  after having had only a "simple" protein shake for dinner... possibly without assaulting the fridge the following morning...Surprisingly I managed to keep going pretty well with this protein shake dinner from Monday to Friday. I had no hunger attacks during the night and the following day I was not even hungry at breakfast time. Which for me is quite impressive...so for the next couple of weeks I will keep this routine and once I will get used to it, I will introduce another "life style"change to challenge my lazy body... Here the ingredients:

Strawberries Protein shake!

One spoon of low fat Vanilla Joghurt
Two spoons of Protein Powder
One spoon of wheat germ
150g Skimmed Milk
100g Strawberries

Then a bunch of almonds...and a sprinkle of Coconut powder on the top!

The tool corner: Fitbit Flex

Hi everyone! The tool corner is a series of posts dedicated to fitness tools which I'll be using to improve my overall fit status.
Right now I am testing the Fitbit Flex and I find it pretty useful to give me an indication of the level of activities I do (or better not do) every day. For a computer/office rat like me is really useful :-)

30 days Squat Challenge

Hi everyone!
Have you ever heard of the 30days squat challenge?  Is about making every day an increasing number of squats staring from 50 up to 250. Now if you are overweighted and out of fitness like I am, you'll probably count up to 1-2-3-4-5...and then your eye balls will squeeze out of your face. Hence guess what? I decided to make my customised challenge and start from 5 :-) Every day I'll increase of 5 unit, splitting in repetitions like:

Day1 5
Day2 10
Day3 5 5 5
Day4 10 10
Day5 10 5 10 5
and so on...

Day 1

Day 1 of my journey to the best body condition I can achieve without starving myself or killing me with extreme exercise. Here I want to post the breakfast that will be part of my nutrition plan for the next months. But first a disclaimer: Breakfast is gonna be identical every single day as I finally found the perfect mix of ingredients that fills me up until lunch time.

Breakfast Time!

Two spoons of white plain 3, 4%  Yoghurt
Two spoons of crunchy muesli
Three spoons of oat flakes
One spoon of wheat germ
One spoon of linen seeds
Skimmed 1, 5% Milk

.....and of course one coffe!

Day 0

Well I guess we all have to start at some point or? I choose today as Day One as I have finally decided to put my body on top of a scale...I went to the gym (after 6 months latitance) and as there was almost none in the female undressing room I took a big breath and did it....and I jumped off the scale as it was dangeroulsly accelerating towards the 80ies...OMG...
Perhaps I should mention that I am 167cm tall and I have a slim body structure (my wrist is 12cm)  which means that I am wearing size US14, ES46, IT48, FR44. Anyway no matter with which system you measure it...I am more curvy than I would like to be. When I was 20-something my body weight was somewhere around 56-57kg hence I have 20kg of undesired insulating layer around me.Actually is not even a matter of estetic appereance, my will to get fit is mostly due to the urge to save my knees from a premature wear, my heart from getting clogged with colesterol and my all body to collapse and get older earlier. I am sick and tired of sweatting like a pig (even in winter), sbuffing like a steam machine at every step I climb up on the stairs and most of all I am tired of watching at my self in the mirror and look like an old fatty lady. I wanna be slim and sexy, sporty and strong, healthy and happy. Is that too much to ask for? No, but I guess it will take effort to get to that point. Nothing comes for free. So here we go...This is the reason why I started this blog. To have a register of what I will be eating and/or exercising in the next months, so should I get fat again in the future... I will have a path to follow :-) And as this is a public blog, I hope it will be useful also for other "food lovers" who got a bit too much and for too long involved with desserts, pasta and so on...

Make a wish and go for it.
